The internship includes rotations in clinical nutrition, community nutrition, and foodservice administration. Many programs have “elective” rotations that allow you to spend time with dietitians working outside these three areas. If you are interested in sports nutrition, you can always request to spend time with a sports RD if possible. I completed my dietetic internship at Saint Louis University, which offers a Nutrition & Physical Performance concentration. While the majority of my rotations were still in a clinical setting, I was able to have a few elective rotations in sports, and also receive a Master of Science with this concentration.
The first step toward becoming a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics is to become a Registered Dietitian (RD). There are several different options students can take to be eligible to sit for the RD exam. The most straight forward path is to complete an accredited dietary program and earn a bachelor’s degree granted by a USDE recognized institution.
The sports nutrition program focuses on the application of nutrition principles as they relate to sport and human performance. Students will explore how nutrition impacts performance. Graduates will be prepared for careers including sports nutrition, personal training or work in the fitness industry, including product development and research. Students may choose to supplement their academic training with national certification in a specific area including personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach or health coach.

Paradis is the Director of Olympic Sports Nutrition at the University of South Carolina. Paradis worked in private practice as a sports dietitian and strength coach for five years, developing his own studio. His clients ranged from high school and college athletes to professional cyclists and hockey players to competitive bodybuilders and powerlifters.
Jennifer Fiske started at FC Dallas as a grad student during her ESN practicum, grew her position into a paid internship and worked with FC Dallas as the team nutritionist for 2 years. Fiske’s experience led her to be the Health Education Coordinator at DFW Airport, working to increase comprehensive health education. Fiske is currently the Wellness Program Administrator for Frisco ISD.

LGC requires that members submit two packs (finished products) for each batch they manufacture. The ISO-certified supplement screen of LGC is used to test the A sample. The B sample (the second pack) is stored in LGC’s secure storage for the entire shelf life of this particular batch.
To figure out the amount of carbohydrate you need, multiply your weight in pounds by 2.2 to get your weight in kilograms then based on that you’ll need 6–10g of carbs per kg of bodyweight. If you have an intense or long workout, you’ll need more than 90 grams of carbohydrates per hour.
