So I recently purchased an iPhone 5s and an iPad air 2 and discovered that this game on both has a sound issue. When I play it on my iPod 4g there is no issue but on the other two devices certain sounds are played slower than they should be, thus making them sound like slow motion. For instance the beast in the beginning, after he chases you to the vine his growl is slowed down and deeply guttural, and then when you are in the cage, the guard starts shooting up and his voice is off, slowed down, as well as what your partner says when he taps you on the shoulder immediately after breaking free. His voice is not the same at all and he doesn’t even finish saying what he’s supposed to say because it’s so slowed down. the laser shots are completely off, especially the super shot. Essentially the sound is really screwed up. I saved version 1.2 and when i play that on my iPod 4g no sound issue, but no matter what version I play now on my iPhone 5s or iPad 2 the sound is completely screwed up. Really love this game and hope to have the issue resolved soon. Other than that it is a great game
All of the console versions include some form of dynamic musical score during gameplay, and in the case of the Mega Drive conversion, use arrangements of the music originating in the SNES and Apple IIGS versions. I got fast block moves on slow cartridges and made a game using polygons working on a 65816 with pure software rendering.” Another World is the only game directly ported from the Super NES to the Apple IIGS, which has the same 65C816 microprocessor.
It’s weird that Another World makes an appearance on Beat the Backlog, as it was only a few weeks ago that I was telling our Tom (prior to his excellent video review) that the gameplay shown in Jump Ship’s trailer to Somerville really reminded me of the classic Amiga adventure game. It’s a game I owned on the SNES some 20-plus years ago, and I was a combination of not smart or patient enough to complete it at the time, despite loving the bleak setting and impactful scenes. And then, entirely randomly, after scrolling through 50 pages of shovelware on the Switch eShop, I stumbled across Another World again and quickly decided to splash out a whole £1.79 to overcome the ancient shame of having never reached the end.
Another World was innovative in its use of cinematic effects in both real-time and cutscenes, which earned the game praise among critics and commercial success. It also influenced a number of other video games and designers, inspiring such titles as Ico, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and Delphine’s later Flashback. It is now considered among the best video games ever made.
This version of Another World was designed for personal computers with operating system MS-DOS (Microsoft Disk Operating System), which was operating system developed by Microsoft in 1981. It was the most widely-used operating system in the first half of the 1990s. MS-DOS was supplied with most of the IBM computers that purchased a license from Microsoft. After 1995, it was pushed out by a graphically more advanced system – Windows and its development was ceased in 2000. At the time of its greatest fame, several thousand games designed specifically for computers with this system were created. Developed and published by US-based development studio Innersloth, Among Us has become one of the most played social deduction games online. With influences from the sci-fi horror movie, The Thing, and the popular party game, Mafia, Among Us requires crewmates to detect and vote out the impostors.
Slightly ‘out-peaking’ Once Human is another 2024 multiplayer title, The First Descendant from developer Nexon. It’s likewise free to play and about an alien invasion, but it’s more of a third-person looter shooter to the tune of titles like Warframe and Destiny 2 and created with Unreal Engine 5. However, don’t expect it to be quite as good as Destiny 2.
